Saturday at 11am!
Stepfamily Straight Talk
improves the quality of stepfamily life
by discussing the challenges raising
children with two households brings into
your marriage, and how having parents in
two households can add to or take away
from the quality of children's lives,
often derailing their academic
achievement. Non-divorced families will
be motivated to stay together and avoid
the pitfalls that lead to divorce as
they listen for tips to share with
family and friends. The show will touch
on adoption, too. Either way, stepfamily
or not, assimilating family members into
a cohesive unit takes a lot more than
saying, "I do!"
Tricia Powe earned
certification in Family Mediation from
American Bar Association recognized
Forrest “Woody” Mosten (Los Angeles).
Learning from among the best in the
field, Powe has been twice-recognized by
Who’s Who organizations for her
leadership in the area of
stepfamily-specific services and
innovative support. The mission
statement’s two main focal points
include: 1) helping children who are
distracted learners because of stressful
dynamics within and between their
parents’ households to become better
focused students, and 2) reduce the risk
of neglect and abuse associated with
distracted parenting which often
accompanies dating after divorce, the
often-challenging task of creating new
family identities, and the financial
set-backs and adjustments both require.
From the nitty-gritty of stepfamily
assimilation planning to executing
co-parenting strategies and review,
Tricia has an astute ability to connect
well with others. In the right setting,
she has the ability to move mountains of
people. Through research and
true-to-life experiences from workshops
she’s presented at schools, as well as a
lifetime of living in-step, Tricia Powe
has explored vital avenues of effective
stepfamily assimilation. What factors
create success for some and failure to
thrive in others? Find out through the
